In its 2023-2028 Animal Management Plan, Council identified an objective to build a fenced off-leash dog park, providing a public space for dogs to exercise, mingle and run free.
Council is investigating potential locations for an off-leash dog park to be located in Kingston. Two locations at the Apex Park and Foreshore Precinct have been identified by Council and we are now seeking the views of the community on these locations or an alternative location.
The proposed dog park will include:
- 1.8 metre high perimeter fencing;
- Two entry/exit gates that will have secure holding points;
- Drinking facilities for dogs;
- Seating and shade for owners;
- An internal concrete path for all abilities access;
- Activity stations and other infrastructure for the enjoyment of dogs;
- Dog dispenser bags; and
- Rubbish bins.
This project will be funded through revenue received from Dog Registrations and subject to feedback received, Council may identify to undertake this project during the 2026-27 financial year.
Community members are encouraged to complete the survey below to provide feedback on the proposal. Consultation closes on 31 October 2025.
At the conclusion of consultation, results of the survey will be reviewed and analysed by Council where they will determine next steps for the project.
